Aerodactyl is a reptile, bipedal prehistoric Pokémon that looks like a pterosaur but has some draconic characteristics. It features short, sharply pointed ears, narrow dark green eyes, a ridged nose, a gaping mouth, and a powerful lower jaw with serrated fangs. It has big violet membranous wings and a body coated in pale blue-gray skin. It can hold items with its clawed paws at the end of each wing. It features a hump-like ridge on its back with a spike, and a powerful tail with an arrow-shaped tip. Its talon-like feet feature two toes in front and one in behind, and it can sweep up and securely hold its prey while flying.
Aerodactyl’s serrated saw-like teeth and fierce demeanor were quite intimidating at the time. Its teeth are capable of ripping out throats and tearing through the skin of any Pokémon, even Steel-type Pokémon. Aerodactyl is said to have soared through the air by expanding its wings and freely giving forth high-pitched screams. Walking on land, on the other hand, is sluggish. It preferred to nest in the highlands, where it could be secure and alone. Aerodactyls existed in ancient periods and were thought to have fallen extinct due of a massive meteor strike. It was rebuilt in contemporary times using genetic material retrieved from amber, although some people died in the process. Despite this, the repair is not deemed flawless.
Mega Evolution’s power causes part of Aerodactyl’s latent genes to resurface. When it transforms into Mega Aerodactyl, its eyes become brilliant green and sections of its body turn to stone, which some scholars think is its original look before fossilization. It grows in size and sprouts jagged black spiky rocks all over its body, including five spikes at each wing’s wrist joint, three small spikes along its tail, one spike on each ear, and a long spike on its chin. Its back spike and rear talons have likewise become black and stone. Its brows and the corners of its mouth are covered with rocky plates. Similar stone ornaments can be found on its chest and torso, with two small ridges flanking a larger ridge. Mega Aerodactyl’s body rocks are tougher than diamond. Mega Aerodactyl is fiercer and more irritable than before due to the burden of Mega Evolution. Mega Aerodactyl, as a consequence, attacks everything that moves.
