Floatzel is an orange Pokémon with longer arms than legs that resembles an anthropomorphic otter or weasel. Each hand has four fingers and each foot has three toes. It has little feet in relation to the rest of its body. It features two tails and two pointed blue fins on its limbs, as well as two aligned, backward-swept, pointed fins on its head. The yellow flotation gear, which seems to be composed of rubber or a similar material, resembles an inflated life jacket. The flotation sac wraps around its head, down in front of its arms, and then back behind its back over the tails. When laying on its back, the flotation sac may be regarded as an inflated dinghy with its tails acting as propellers and fins acting as oars. Its tails may spin indefinitely like propeller blades. It has cream-tipped forelimbs and tails, and an orange teardrop form towards the bottom of its cream abdomen.
A round cream patch in the middle of Floatzel’s head, cream eyelids, and a pattern of two black triangles on the borders of its cream snout complete the picture. If it is female, it has one cream, slightly projecting, oval-shaped mark on its back, and if it is male, it has two. It possesses short, sharp canine teeth, the top two of which are visible when it closes its mouth.
Its swimming ability may be used to aid in the rescue of drowning persons. Floatzel may deflate its flotation sac to assist it dive and then reinflate it when it wants to surface. Floatzel’s sac keeps it from drowning even amid sea storms. It is a freshwater Pokémon that like to hunt prey in fast-moving rivers. It has also been sighted fishing in hamlets on occasion.
Floatzel is part of a two-member family.
