Biology

Golurk is a bipedal mechanical Pokémon that looks like a suit of armor. Its predominant hue is teal, with yellow swirls on its shoulders and hands. It has a tiny head in proportion to its body and light yellow eyes, one of which twists to the left at the bottom, as opposed to Golett’s eye, which rotates to the right. The armor has a fracture across the chest that is fixed diagonally with a brown seal like a belt. Each shoulder has a crystal-like shape, and its wrists and ankles are adorned with huge bangles. It features a Roman-style “skirt” and flat feet below. There is an unverified idea that Golurk includes a perpetual motion machine capable of producing an infinite quantity of energy.

Despite its massive size, Golurk can fly by retracting its hands into its arms and legs and feet into its torso, then launching off at Mach speeds like a rocket. As shown in PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond, the anime, and Pokémon Adventures, it can also create a cannon by bringing its legs into its body and standing on its hands. If the seal on its chest is removed, its energy goes wild, and its energy’s hue transforms from yellow to red. As a result, it rages and flies about madly, unable to land. When the seal is removed, Golurk attacks indiscriminately.

Golurk is supposed to have been created by ancient humans to serve as a worker and Pokémon guardian. It could also shoot energy beams and operated as a sentry on artillery platforms erected onto the walls of historical castles. Golurk will obey its master’s commands without question.
