Haunter #093

Haunter is a gaseous Pokémon with a purple body. It bears a spherical head that is flanked on each side by three massive, spiky protrusions. It has triangular eyes with tiny pupils and a long, pink tongue in its mouth. The gases that make up its head curl towards its mouth, forming numerous sharp teeth. Each hand floats in front of its torso, each with three clawed fingers. Its body narrows to form a jagged tail. Because of its gaseous nature, Haunter is one of the lightest Pokémon.

Haunter seeks refuge in very dark areas, such as caverns, and is terrified of light. If Haunter comes into contact with a person or a Pokémon, it will pursue the target while floating and invite it to come closer. When approached, it will lick the victim with its gaseous tongue, causing spasms that will persist till death. It is also capable of floating through walls. It has been shown in the anime that it can control its hands from a distance and any Pokémon that it contacts with its hands. Despite its predatory nature, it has been known in anime to delight and fool people. It has also been known to feel tremendous loyalty to a dead Trainer. Night Shade was Generation I’s trademark move.

One of the numerous captureable Pokemon in Pokemon GO is the Pokemon Haunter.
