Biology
Helioptile is a lizard-like bipedal Pokémon. It is mostly light yellow in color, with black paws and a black tail tip. The top of its head is black as well, with a triangle yellow marking on the brow. Blue eyes, a V-shaped mouth, a slightly pointed head, a tapering tail, and three toes on each foot characterize this creature. A pointed extension with a yellow tip extends from either side of its head. These have the ability to tighten and extend into a frill.
When exposed to sunlight, the cells in these frills create energy. This enables it to generate its own energy and flourish in its arid habitat without food. The frills function similarly to solar panels and are responsible for Heiloptile’s electric movements. If this process is disrupted, Helioptile will be strained to the point of failure. When it utilizes specific attacks, its head and frills glow with a pale yellow light, as shown in one of its attack animations in the games. Electrify was the trademark move of Generation VIII before it.
