Biology

Illumise is a bipedal firefly-like Pokémon. It has a blue face and blue eyes with purple marks at the corners. Purple curls frame its face and surround its skull. It has little yellow antennas. It has a black body, a blue belly, and a yellow bid marking. It has black arms and legs that are joined to the body by purple borders. It has short wings for flying with others and three oblong yellow spots on its back. Volbeat is its male counterpart; this is a female-only species.

Illumise employs delicious scents to entice Volbeat to make geometric designs in the skies. It is considered that creating more intricate designs earns appreciation from others. Over 200 distinct patterns have been identified. It is a forest-dwelling nocturnal Pokémon.
