Biology

Inkay is a Pokémon that looks like a blue squid. It features a translucent mantle and an interior spherical, pink body with many yellow, round lights. There are four front lights and two rear lights. Two translucent tentacles are attached to its mantle; the other tentacles are part of its main body. It features black eyes that are circular and a pink beak-like lips. Because of its look, Inkay is sometimes misidentified as a Water-type.

Those who look at the lights on Inkay’s body get bewildered and lose their desire to fight, allowing it to flee. It may also utilize these light-emitting areas to communicate messages and entice prey via sophisticated flashing patterns. The tentacles entangle and hold the prey in place. Prior to Generation VIII, its hallmark move was Topsy-Turvy.
