Ivysaur is a quadrupedal amphibian with blue-green skin and darker spots. It has pointy ears on top of its head with black insides and tiny red eyes. The snout of an Ivysaur is short and rounded, with a broad mouth and two sharp teeth in the upper jaw. It has three claws on each of its feet. Its rear bulb has flowered into a huge pink bud. The bud is supported by a slender brown stem encircled by lush green fronds.

The plant’s weight stops Ivysaur from sprinting swiftly or standing on its hind legs, forcing its legs to become strong. When its flower is ready to bloom, it emits a unique, sweet-smelling perfume and begins to expand. In preparation for its impending transformation, Ivysaur will also begin spending more time in sunshine. Sunlight increases the power of both Ivysaur and its plant. Plains are Ivysaur’s native environment.

Pokédex description

Seed Pokémon

There is a bud on this Pokémon's back. To support its weight, Ivysaur's legs and trunk grow thick and strong. If it starts spending more time lying in the sunlight, it's a sign that the bud will bloom into a large flower soon.

Evolution family

Ivysaur is part of a three-member family.
