In January, Pokemon Go will have its first-ever Community Day Classic, starring Bulbasaur.

It’s worth noting that the regular Community Day, featuring the lovely Spheal, will still go place on January 16 – this is an additional Community Day honoring one of the series’ heritage Pokemon. It’s unclear if this is the start of a new monthly event or a one-time occurrence, but it’s a welcome sight for anyone who missed the previous Bulbasaur Community Day some years ago. The event will take place on Saturday, January 22 from 2pm to 5pm local time, providing you a very short time frame to get the Kanto region starter.

If you’re acquainted with how Pokemon Go’s Community Days operate, you’ll recognize the fundamental framework of Bulbasaur’s Classic event. Bulbasaur, including the Shiny variant, will occur more often in the wild throughout the event’s three-hour length. Meanwhile, if you manage to develop Ivysaur (the evolved version of Bulbasaur) into a Venusaur, the Venusaur will be aware of the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.

Three-hour lure modules, three-hour incense, and a new photo award are among the event’s exclusives. There will also be some event-exclusive Special Research available for purchase for $1 at some time. Finally, for 1,280 PokeCoins, you may purchase a one-time Community Day package that contains 50 Ultra Balls, five Lucky Eggs, five Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM.

Community Day Classic Bulbasaur is here!

A $1 Community Day Special Research Story dubbed “Bulbasaur Community Day Classic” will be available for a limited time. Although no specifics regarding the research assignments or awards are disclosed, tickets are available for pre-purchase today for those who are interested. Other benefits of Bulbasaur Community Day include:

  • Triple Catch XP for each Pokemon caught
  • Incense activated during the event will last three hours instead of 30 minutes
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will also last three hours instead of 30 minutes
  • Some Snapshots taken during the event will have “a surprise”

Finally, two Community Day offers will be available in the Item Shop during the event. Not only will 30 Ultra Balls be given out for free, but a one-time-only Community Day Box will also be available for 1,280 PokeCoins. The limited edition pack will include 50 Ultra Balls, five Lucky Eggs, five Star Pieces, and one Elite Charged TM.

This is the second Pokemon Go Community Day in a week, after a Spheal-themed event on January 16. This is also the first time Bulbasaur has been commemorated.
