Biology

Kartana is a little Ultra Beast that looks like an origami person. It looks to be folded from a sheet of white on one side and orange on the other. It possesses a four-sided star in the middle of its head, which is folded somewhat within its body, but no identifiable facial characteristics. Its head opens and closes like a paper fortune teller and seems to serve as both an eye and a mouth. It has two small antennas or horns on top of its head, which are broader at the top. It features long, thin arms that look like katanas and a golden sheath-like structure surrounding the top portion. The sheath links to the torso’s crimson, slightly elevated hexagon. Three yellow extensions almost as long as its arms extend up and out from the base of each sheath. Its legs are wrinkled, with crimson streaks evident at the borders. Kartana is one of the lightest Pokémon in existence due to its light, thin build.

Despite its modest size in comparison to the other Ultra Beasts, Kartana is exceedingly hazardous due to its razor-sharp body edges. It can chop down a massive steel skyscraper with a single stroke of its arm blades, and any opponents who attempt to assault it will be similarly ripped apart. Wicke of the Aether Foundation claims that its light, paper-like body enables it to dodge most assaults by just floating out of the way, but it also renders it very sensitive to fire and wetness. Kartana, as shown in the anime, has the power to open Ultra Wormholes and talk backwards. It was the only Pokémon that could learn Cut by leveling up for a short period.
