Biology
Klefki is a little, grayish-white Pokémon with four keys that resembles a key ring. It features a spherical head with a little pink oval on the brow. Its eyes and mouth are formed by two black rings and a keyhole. Its pink, teardrop-shaped body is below its head, with a white, teardrop-shaped marking in the center. A horn like an old-fashioned key with two large, blunt teeth protrudes from the top of its skull. Klefki is surrounded by a slender loop that extends from each side of the key. Various keys that this Pokémon has obtained are dangling from the loop. Klefki is the shortest Steel-type, along with Alolan Diglett and Meltan.
Klefki used to live in mines. It went to human communities as the minerals it fed on became rare. It now consumes metal ions by putting its key-like horn into metal chinks. It enjoys collecting keys, especially master keys, and will break into people’s houses to steal them. While the specific purpose of this collection is uncertain, it does rattle its collection in order to frighten predators. People will give it vital keys to avoid theft since it will never release a key it loves.
Klefki is the only Pokémon known to be capable of learning the move Fairy Lock. Crafty Shield was also one of Generation VI’s hallmark moves.
