Biology
Klinklang is a Pokémon that resembles four interlocking gears, each with six teeth and the bigger gear with eight teeth. The fourth gear is on the bottom side, with a crimson top and a thin, spiky rim underneath it. The red core stores the energy generated by the moving gears. This energy may be unleashed through the bottom spiked gear. The smaller gears’ teeth are a pale gray, whereas their inner sections are significantly darker. The bigger gear’s teeth are a medium gray, with a darker middle section. The smaller gear’s left eye is a white “X,” while its right eye has a black pupil and a white sclera. It has a tiny mouth and a round green nose. The biggest gear has a face with a black square for a right eye, a black circle for a left eye, and a sharply slanted white frown.
Dialogue between the two facing gears in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series reveals that both gears are sentient in their own right.
However, the spike gear it acquires after developing is not living. Klinklang’s crimson core can hold a massive amount of energy, which it utilizes to throw gears as well as strong electrical blasts from its spikes. Klinklang and its pre-evolved incarnations are the only Pokémon known to be able to learn the move Gear Grind. Shift Gear was also one of Generation VII’s hallmark techniques. Its red core gear can spin quickly to charge itself with energy.
