Biology
Latias is a Pokémon with a bird-like physique that has been styled to seem like an aircraft. Its squat body is supported by a lengthy neck that reaches forward. It has no legs and normally floats. The lower half of its body is mostly red, while the upper part is mostly white, with jet-plane wings on top and fins on the bottom near its tail. A blue triangle indicates the middle of its breast, while a red mask covers part of its face. It has ear-like fins on top of its head and yellow eyes. It has three-fingered arms that are short and have a crimson coating on the outside of the lower arms. Latias is a female-only species, whereas Latios is the male.
The crimson sections of Mega Latias’ body become purple as it evolves. Horns sprout from the side of its skull and go down the length of its jaw. It loses its rear wings, and comparable but bigger wings connect to its lower limbs, which are generally maintained level. Instead of marking its chest, triangle shapes now designate the forward tip of its wings.
When there is enmity against Latias, it ruffles its feathers and shouts aloud. Its downy, glass-like feathers may enfold its body and refract light, allowing it to become invisible or change its appearance. It is very clever and understands human speech. It has the ability to converse with people via telepathy. In the sixth film, Latias had the “Sight Sharing” ability, which let Latias and anyone around him to see precisely what Latios was seeing. It seldom interacts with people or other Pokémon and vanishes when an adversary approaches. It normally lives in herds of several individuals and is located near water.
Latias is the only Pokémon known to be capable of learning the move Mist Ball.
