Lunatone was released along with the release of Hoenn-region Desert-themed Pokémon on January 23^rd, 2018.
It is available only in the Western Hemisphere.
Shiny form of Lunatone was released at the start of Equinox 2019 on March 19^th, 2019.

Biology

Lunatone is a cream-colored rock Pokémon with the form of a crescent moon. A pointed, beak-like feature is located in the middle of the crescent. It has deep-set, crimson eyes that may either paralyze or induce slumber. It dwells in caverns and comes to life at a full moon. The moon enhances its strength, and the lunar phases affect its health. Lunatone floats in the air using its psychic abilities. It was found near the location of a meteor strike. There is speculation that Lunatone originated in space.
