Lycanroc is a wolf-like canine Pokémon. It may take three different forms: midday, midnight, and dusk. When exposed to solar or lunar energy, the first two types are impacted by Solgaleo and Lunala. The fading sun of the evening is thought to have inspired the third shape.

Lycanroc resembles a quadrupedal, light brown wolf in its Midday Form. It has a mask-like white underbelly that continues up around its nose and eyes. It features pointy ears with dark brown points and pink insides, enormous blue eyes, and a dark brown nose with a triangular shape. Its mouth has four sharp fangs, two in the upper jaw and two in the lower. Large brown fur tufts protrude from the sides of its head, three on each side. Its neck is covered with a thick, white mane. Four dark brown boulders protrude from its mane, like a stylised sun. The rocks are known to be quite sharp. This form’s lower legs are white, and each foot has three dark brown claws. It has a long, fluffy white tail as well.

Lycanroc takes on the appearance of a slouched, bipedal wolf or werewolf in its Midnight Form. It has red fur on its lower legs and a white stripe across its face, tummy, and tail. It features pointed, button ears with black points, three enormous tufts of fur on each side of its face, a triangular black nose, and sharp fangs in its mouth. While its sclerae, irises, and pupils are visible, they all glow a pinkish red with no discernible hues. A mane of fur covers its back and shoulders, flowing forward to create a crescent moon shape over its head. Two tiny pebbles resembling claws come out of the mane on each side of its torso, right below the shoulders. Over its head, a single larger stone protrudes from the front of the mane. This form has three black claws on each of its paws and a stubby tail coated in long hair.

Lycranroc’s Dusk Form resembles a cross between its Midday and Midnight Forms. It has the same white body as Midday Form, but it has orange-gold fur instead. It keeps three brown claws on all four feet. The white fluffy mane resembles a sun with a crescent moon in the middle. It also has four pebbles around its neck in the shape of a sun, as well as a single, larger stone emerging from its mane above its head. Its visage is similar to that of Midday Form Lycanroc, except it is orange-gold with brilliant green eyes that may become bright burning red when furious or attacking.

The personality of the Midday Form is quiet and cautious. To prevent unnecessary conflict, the Midday Form likes to dwell alone and does not form packs with other creatures of its type. It is, nevertheless, a fiercely devoted companion to Trainers who accept it during its wild period. It darts past opponents while assaulting them with the pebbles in its mane during combat. Many opponents are perplexed and forced into a corner as a result of these quick actions.  It constantly uses its teeth to attack the vulnerable point of its opponents. Broken shards of its stone mane are considered lucky.

In contrast, Lycanroc’s Midnight Form is enthralled by combat and becomes more enthralled as its opponent grows stronger. Its eyes gleam as a result of its eagerness.  The Midnight Form is notorious for being irresponsible. Its approach is to close in on its opponent and encourage assault before countering with a tremendous strike that knocks out the opponent. The sheer power of its headbutts is capable of destroying massive rocks. Trainers who can elicit its power win its trust, but it despises anyone with whom it disagrees or who attempt to push it to battle.

The Dusk Shape Lycanroc has characteristics with the preceding two types. It shares the Midday Form’s posture, calm temperament, and devoted disposition. It does, however, share the fighting attitude of the Midnight Form, especially the red, flashing eyes at the time of assault. The Dusk Form is the rarest of the three forms since it only appears at sunset.  Due to its volatile nature, the Dusk Form of Lycanroc is exceedingly difficult to train.

Lycanroc is the only Pokémon known to be able to use the Z-Move Splintered Stormshards.

The only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Accelerock are Lycanroc’s Midday and Dusk Forms.
