Marill #183

Biology

Marill is a Pokémon that is a little blue bipedal semi-aquatic rodent. It features round ears with scarlet insides and an almost spherical form with a white belly. These keen ears may pick up on faraway noises. Marill’s arms and legs are short and lack discernible digits. At the tip of its zigzagging black tail is a blue, bubble-like ball. The tail is stretchable and flexible, and the ball contains oil that works as a buoy to keep Marill afloat. When Marill attacks, the ball at the tip of its tail may glow. Marill was depicted in the anime to be able to bounce on its tail.

Because of its water-repellent fur, Marill can swim in strong water currents without being slowed down by the resistance of the water. In addition to fishing for food, Marill eats on aquatic vegetation. When it dives, its tail may be seen bouncing on the surface of the water. When fishing near a fast-moving stream, it will wrap its tail around a tree. Marill never feels chilly after swimming in frigid water because its water-repellent fur dries fast after it exits the water. It dwells near the water.
