Alolan Geodude Community Day activities are always fun, and practically every Community Day offers a Pokemon that every Trainer wants.
Since it occurs once a month, the featured Pokemon emerges in the wild more often during those few hours, and the Community Day in May will bring Alolan Geodude. The event will take place on May 21, 2022, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. local time.
Pokemon enthusiasts should brace themselves for the upcoming Pokemon Go Community Day, as Alolan Geodude will be the featured Pokemon in May.
The Electric and Rock-type Pokemon will be featured for the whole three-hour Pokemon Go Community Day event in May, which takes place on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. The special rapid attack Rollout will be awarded to players that develop Alolan Geodude to its ultimate form, Alolan Golem.
Players can access a Community Day exclusive set of Special Research tasks under the name “A Rocky Road” by purchasing a $1 ticket from the item shop.
Tickets to this exclusive Special Research event can now be gifted to a friend.

Alolan Geodude Community Day is Here!
The Alolan Geodude Pokemon Go Community Day comes after the Stufful highlight event on April 23. The Sandshrew and Alolan Sandshrew combination Community Day in March was also the first to showcase any regional variety at all.
Trainers who develop Alolan Graveler into Alolan Golem on Community Day in May will get a Pokemon with the special Fast Attack Rollout. This attack has 4 power in Trainer Battles, but 14 power in Gyms and Raids. A Rocky Road, a new Special Research tale, will be released for $1.00 with Alolan Geodude.
Now that tickets have been discussed, Niantic will be creating a new feature in which Trainers may donate one to a buddy (at the time of writing, it is only valid for May Community Day’s Special Research). When you open the Special Research ticket, a button that suggests giving rather than purchasing will be added (you will still need to pay $1.00 if you prefer to give it to a friend).
There will be various event bonuses, like with every event, and this Community Day event will have the following event benefits:
- For capturing Pokemon, you will get 3x Stardust.
- 2x Candy for Pokemon capturing
- Catching Alolan Geodude twice increases your chances of receiving Geodude XL Candy.
- The duration of the event’s incense is three hours.
- Lure Modules that are triggered during the event will be active for three hours.
- Take a few pictures on Community Day for a surprise.
- One more special transaction may be performed during the event and up to two hours thereafter for a total of two for the day.
- Trades conducted during the event and over the next two hours will need 50% less Stardust.
A lot of perks, right? There is one more benefit, although it is a group bonus rather than an individual one. If enough Pokemon are captured with a single Lure Module, the 3X Catch Stardust bonus will be increased to 4X for Trainers near the Lured PokeStop for 30 minutes.
If you thought this was the end, there are two more things we want to tell you about the Alolan Geodude Community Day in May: event bundles and stickers. Event-themed stickers will be available in Pokemon Go via spinning PokeStops, Gifts, and the in-game store, and a one-time-purchase Community Day Box featuring one Super Incubator, one Lucky Egg, one Elite Fast TM, and one Star Piece will be available for 975 PokeCoins. The other event package will include 30 Ultra Balls for free.

The Season of Alola in Pokemon Go is coming to a close shortly, but before it does, the game is hosting another Community Day. The May event begins today, May 21, and includes another Alola Pokemon to capture as well as a plethora of additional in-game incentives to obtain. Everything you need to know about the event is included here.
When is May’s Community Day?
May’s Community Day is on Saturday, May 21. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time this time.
Featured Pokemon: Alolan Geodude
Alolan Geodude is the focus of May’s Community Day. The rock/electric Pokemon will emerge in the wild considerably more often than normal during the event, and you’ll have a better chance of meeting a shiny Alolan Geodude.
Event move: Rollout
On the day of the event, if you can develop Alolan Geodude into its ultimate form, Alolan Golem, it will learn a new Fast Attack: Rollout. You will have until 4 p.m. local time—two hours after the conclusion of May’s Community Day—to develop your Pokemon and learn the special attack.
Other event bonuses
Aside from higher Geodude spawning, there will be a few more in-game incentives available during May’s Community Day.
First, capturing Alolan Geodude will quadruple your chances of acquiring a Geodude Candy XL. You’ll also get triple Stardust and double candy if you capture any Pokemon during the event, and any lure modules or incense you use will last three hours instead of the regular two.
In addition, Pokemon Go will be giving out 30 free Ultra Balls in its store, as well as a special item package. The latter costs 975 PokeCoins and contains the following items:
- 1 Super Incubator
- 1 Lucky Egg
- 1 Elite Fast TM
- 1 Star Piece
In addition to today’s Community Day, the island guardian Tapu Fini will emerge in five-star raids through the end of the month, and a “Alola to Alola” climax event will take place from May 25 to 31.
