Metapod is a bug Pokémon that looks like a green chrysalis. It has a crescent-shaped body with numerous segments forming the lowest tip. Metapod’s shell is shaped like a face, with heavy-lidded eyes and a sharply pointed nose. Its shell’s back is made up of many geometrically formed parts and projections.

While metamorphosing, Metapod’s soft body is protected by a hard outer shell. While its shell is supposed to be as durable as steel, a forceful enough impact might cause its liquid contents to fall out, exposing it entirely. Metapod is mostly stationary while it rebuilds its cells for evolution. If an adversary detects Metapod, the only thing it can do is strengthen its exterior shell. Metapod may be found in temperate woods and jungles. Metapod’s natural predator is Pikipek.
