A new Pikachu event for Pokemon Day, as well as a shiny bonus for Community Day in 2018.
For three hours, the Pokemon Go firm has announced a new international event dubbed a Pikachu Community Day, which will include an unique Pokemon with an exclusive move, enhanced XP, Stardust, and Lure Module.
From now until February 28, a new unique Pikachu may be encountered in the wild, giving some recognizable apparel as well as a few goodies.
"Celebrate all things Pokémon with festive Pikachu donning party hats accessible in the wild from February 26 to February 28," Niantic said on the official Go Twitter account.
While Party Hat Pikachus have appeared in the game before, the new event provides everyone another chance.
There are also large rewards for catching the special Pikachu, which apparently come with the special move Present and dish away quadruple Stardust.
That isn’t the only thing happening to commemorate the original Pokemon games.
Niantic has also announced that new Trainer avatar items from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are now available in-game.
Niantic has not announced any further benefits, although it is worth keeping an eye on Niantic’s social media sites throughout the day.
Aside from Pokemon Day, fans now know more about Community Day 3.
The next limited-time event, which will begin in March, will feature the Pocket Monster, Bulbasaur.
The special move has yet to be unveiled, but we do know that the Grass-type will debut with some excellent benefits.
During event hours, they will provide 3x Catch XP as well as the standard 3-hour lures.
Community Day 3 begins on Sunday, March 25, giving fans plenty of time to prepare.
Trainers are also looking for new Shiny Bulbasaurs, but Niantic has yet to divulge anything on the matter.
As we witnessed with Dratini in February, expectations are strong that Niantic will do the same for every Community Day throughout 2018.
This is What They Say On a Official Announcement:
We’re incredibly excited to announce Pokémon GO Community Day–a monthly worldwide event dedicated to celebrate you, the Trainers in the Pokémon GO community.
What is Pokémon GO Community Day?
Pokémon GO Community Day is an opportunity for Trainers around the world to meet up at their local parks to make new friends and experience what it means to be a part of this special community.
Once a month, we’ll host a Pokémon GO Community Day event starring a special Pokémon, which will appear frequently around the world for just a few hours. When caught during the event, this special Pokémon will know an exclusive move. Other bonuses will be in effect during the event, such as increased XP or Stardust, and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
We’re constantly blown away by the passion of Pokémon GO players around the world, and we hope that each Pokémon GO Community Day will help add to the excitement of local events and meetups. Remember always to be alert and stay safe while playing and to be respectful of public spaces when exploring your community. Stay tuned to our social media channels and check out the Pokémon GO Community Day event page each month to learn about that month’s featured Pokémon, special bonuses, and event times.
