Pokémon World Championships 2019 was a tie-in regional event in Pokémon GO for The Pokémon Company's real-world Pokémon Championship Series held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., United States.

These features were available around Music City Center in Nashville.
There were increased spawns of Fossil Pokémon near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Unlike previous years, there was no Unown spawns.
Field Research event tasks
There was two exclusive Research tasks available from PokéStops within 1 mile radius from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. One of them would reward Trainers with a region-exclusive Pokémon Relicanth.

The Pokémon World Champions have arrived! The event hosts several competitive events (for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Ultra Sun & Moon, Pokkén, and Pokémon Go), but it's also a fairly large convention in its own right, where Pokémon fans can meet up, play a few games, lounge around, or visit the Pokémon Center shop, which has Worlds-exclusive items.
We explored the exhibition floor and other locations and were able to (Pokémon) get a few images of the event!
First and foremost, the exhibition floor. It's enormous! Not only is there a convention center packed with demonstrations, player halls, and more, but the surrounding areas are also decked up with some well-known figures.
When we were roaming about the hotel taking pictures, we ran upon Victoria, a teenage Alolan Vulpix cosplayer!
There is also a modest gift store on the exhibition floor where you can purchase a variety of Poké-themed goods.
Of course, if you want the truly fascinating things, you'll have to go to the Pokémon Center, which includes a variety of World-exclusive goods centered with the Washington, D.C. location as well as a broader archaeological theme.
Outside of the exclusive things, there's a lot more to purchase at the shop.
So there you have it! While Worlds is a far larger event than these photographs can really capture, they should give you an excellent sense of what to expect. It's an exciting moment.
Trainers may pick any of the current 807 known Pokémon to compete with them in the 2019 Pokémon World Championships this weekend. This is the final time they will be allowed to do so, at least for the time being.
The Pokémon Company announced earlier today that Pokémon Sword and Shield would be the official games for competitive play for the 2020 season. Although this isn't a shocking move, it does indicate that the environment may see some big competitive alterations when the 2019 Pokémon Sun and Moon championships conclude.
Pokémon Sword and Shield, as unveiled at E3, will be the first games in the series' recent history that will not enable players to import Pokémon from prior games through the Pokémon bank. We have no idea which Pokémon will be left behind in the next generation. Will Celesteela, who assisted North American champ Wolfe Glick in reaching the finals in June, return? Whoever makes the cut, the field will be drastically reduced, and it is probable that several current competitive favorites will be eliminated.
Although this has enraged some fans, it also adds to the uniqueness of this year's World Championships. It's the end of a generation—multiple generations, really—and a great time to honor the series' competitive heritage on the 3DS. einsteineruploading up to get together with. The video game finals are scheduled to begin about noon on Sunday with the Junior Division. The finals are scheduled to end at 4:00 p.m. ET that day. All of those games will be broadcast live on the Pokémon VGC Twitch channel.
The Pokémon World Championships host more than simply Moon and Sun game bouts. The event also features the Pokémon Trading Card Game championships, which will be streamed live concurrently, as well as a Pokkén Tournament DX event, with the finals beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET Saturday. The event even sponsored a tiny Pokémon Go invitational earlier today.
