Power Plant Event

The Power Plant event is ongoing in Pokémon Go and it gives the opportunity to acquire brand-new Pokémon. It’s usual for new events to function as the premiere for Pokémon from the regular series. Pokémon Go is presently delivering animals up to its ninth generation but at random order. Normally, new Pokémon from classic generations are introduced in chunks. Although, a few are brought to the game as an individual. The latest event available in the game is the Power Plant even which focuses on aiding Team Instinct Leader Spark to uncover the Mysterious Door.

This is closely connected to the forthcoming Pokémon Go Johto Tour event occuring this February. The Power Plant event will take place from Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. through Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. For the first time ever, trainers will be able to get their hands on Helioptile and Heliolisk, two Electric-type Pokémon that came from the Kalos area. Trainers will be able to develop their Helioptile into a Heliolisk after feeding it 50 sweets and a Sun Stone. Not only that, but this event has its own set of raid fights, wild spawning, and opportunities to catch Shiny Pokémon.

Debuting Pokémon

As hinted in the current game loading screen, Helioptile and its evolution Heliolisk are coming to Pokémon GO as part of the Power Plant event. Evolution expenses will be 50 sweets and, oddly, a Sun Stone — the last Pokémon debut to need a Sun Stone was Cottonee, way back in August 2020.

The Power Plant event is the latest event in the Season of Heritage narrative for Pokémon Go. Spark, the captain of Team Instinct has established that the last lock on the Mysterious Door will need Electric type Pokémon to open. He is calling on trainees to collect and fight Pokémon from the Power Plants of Kanto and Kalos, including a Pokémon Go newcomer: Helioptile!

However, Spark isn’t the only one attempting to get through that door. After months of relative stillness, it would appear Team GO Rocket is attacking once again!

Overall, trainers should strive on discovering and catching as many Helioptile as possible. Earning enough Pokémon Go candies may help it develop into a rather formidable Electric-type Pokémon. Not only that, but Shiny Trubbish has been a fan-favorite for hunting. This event is the greatest opportunity to grab it with its enhanced spawn rate. Currently, Helioptile does not have its Shiny version accessible in the game. It’s probable it will be introduced in a future event.
