Biology

Rufflet is a little blue-bodied bird Pokémon. Its head is covered in a big white plume of feathers, and three tail feathers protrude from its lower back. The ruff grows beyond its neck and covers the top part of its body. In contrast to the white feathers around it, its face is blue with five pointed points, like a mask and crown. A big feather, crimson on the bottom half and white on the top half, protrudes from its brow. The feather’s split between two hues mimics a zigzag pattern. The beak of a rufflet is short and broad, with huge eyes on each side. The iris of each eye is thick and black, with a little white pupil. It has huge yellow legs and feet in proportion to its size. Each foot has four digits: one backwards, three forwards, and one forward.

Its broad, black claws are powerful enough to smash even the toughest berries and crack Shellder to swallow their insides. Rufflet is a born bully that deliberately confronts opponents bigger and more strong than itself, even its own father, in order to acquire approval. It perceives this as a rapid way to gain strength. When Rufflet loses a fight, it begins to weep. Rufflet receives an extra Psychic-type as it develops into Hisuian Braviary as a consequence of Hisui’s harsh climate.
