Season of GO is the next season of Pokémon GO, and it runs from June 1 at 10 a.m. until September 1 at 10 a.m. local time. Rhi, a mystery stranger who is a member of the GO Ultra Recon Squad, is the primary character of Season of GO.
Season of GO brings increased damage for remote raiding, friendship bonus damage for raiders, and trading bonuses, as well as much easier Candy XL acquisition and enhanced PokéStop interactions.
They also seem to be well-versed in Ultra Wormholes. Who is this mysterious stranger? How can they assist us in dealing with the Ultra Beasts? We'll simply have to go with it and see where it leads us…
The seasons change every few months, becoming spring, summer, fall, or winter. Seasons were added to Pokémon GO in December 2020, inspired by these changes. Each Season in the mobile game lasts three months and includes special events, more Pokémon appearing in the wild (in certain areas and hemispheres), a refreshed Egg pool, and other features. Each Season in Pokémon GO is named after an idea/theme rather than the spring, summer, fall, or winter seasons.
A new Season has begun for June 2022, and it is known as the Season of GO.

Unlike the Season of Alola, the Season of GO has no intentions to assign Trainers to a Season-long Special Research Story or to concentrate on a single place in the Pokémon world (at the time of this posting). Instead, the emphasis is on Pokémon GO itself! After all, the mobile game's sixth anniversary will take place on July 6, 2022, and there will be lots of significant events throughout the summer! Notably, Pokémon GO Fest 2022, as well as its three spin-off in-person events in the United States, Germany, and Japan, will be included. Finally, a follow-up event to GO Fest 2022 will take place in August. The following are the dates for Pokémon GO Fest 2022-related events:
- Saturday, June 4th, and Sunday, June 5th, 2022: Pokémon GO Fest 2022 (worldwide event)
- Friday, July 1st – Sunday, July 3rd, 2022: Pokémon GO Fest: Berlin (in-person event at Britzer Garten, Berlin, Germany)
- Friday, July 22nd – Sunday, July 24th, 2022: Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle (in-person event at Seattle Center Park and downtown Seattle, Washington, United States)
- Friday, August 5th – Sunday, August 7th, 2022: Pokémon GO Fest: Sapporo (in-person event at Nakajima Park and Sapporo, Japan)
- Saturday, August 27th, 2022: Pokémon GO Fest 2022 Finale Event (worldwide, included with Pokémon GO Fest 2022 ticket for free and available to purchase separately)
Note: Tickets for the in-person events are limited and must be bought through Niantic’s event ticketing site or via the Pokémon GO app. Access to the event may be limited to one day and/or a certain time frame. Please see the dedicated Pokémon GO Fest 2022 sites for these events (as linked above).

During the Season of GO, Niantic introduces the latest main features for Pokémon GO, including a redesign of Pokémon in the wild and more.
Pokémon GO is about to get a new content pack. Season of GO will include a slew of previously unseen bonuses, events, and adjustments to the Pokémon that reemerge in the wild. It will be accessible between the 1st of June and the 1st of September at 10:00 a.m. local time.
The Pokémon shown here are those identified by Niantic at the time. More names from each area will be revealed as the season proceeds. There is always the possibility that they may arrive in a glossy variant. There will also be three in-person Pokémon GO Fest events, the first of which will be hosted on June 4 and 5 in Berlin.
Have you ever wondered what previous Pokémon Go Seasons looked like? Here are some of the highlights:
- Season of Alola: From March 1, 2022 to June 1, 2022, the sixth Pokémon Go season centered on the Alola area of Gen VII, with players exploring each of the four islands and meeting the Guardian Deities of Alola. In the run-up to Pokémon Go Fest 2022, the season featured limited Special Research lines focusing on each island. The Festival of Colors, Spring into Spring, A Mega Moment, and other seasonal activities took place. Just when players thought the Alolan thrill was over, Nihilego arrived via Ultra Wormholes during Pokémon Go Fest, promising more Gen VII excitement in the form of Ultra Beasts.
- Season of Heritage: From December 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022, the fifth Pokémon Go season focuses on the past, with the discovery of a Mysterious Door by Professor Willow. Trainers assisted the professor throughout the season to open the door, but Team GO Rocket beat them to the punch and snatched the Apex Ho-Oh and Apex Lugia from behind the door during the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto. The Pokémon Go Tour Johto also unlocked the remaining Gen II Shiny Pokémon and allowed users to capture, trade, hatch, or develop all of the Gen II Pokémon in a one day.
- Season of Mischief: From September 1, 2021 to December 1, 2021, the fourth Pokémon Go Season focuses on Hoopa, after the Mythical Pokémon's surprise arrival at the close of the previous season. Trainers were able to perform a Season-long Special Research in order to capture Hoopa, as well as another Special Research in order to unlock Hoopa's ability to shift forms. Form altering makes its Pokémon Go debut with the release of Furfrou during the Fashion Week event. The Psychic Spectacular reappeared, as did Halloween, and Dia de Muertos and Diwali celebrations extended to encompass the whole globe. Team GO Rocket reappeared, with Giovanni having caught Shadow Lugia, and gamers were treated to a celebration of the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
- Season of Discovery: From June 1, 2021 to September 1, 2021, the third Pokémon Go Season will concentrate on Pokémon Go's fifth anniversary and Pokémon Go Fest 2021. The Regi Trio has returned, as have some amusing new Avatar Style items based on the titans. The worldwide Pokémon Go celebration 2021 reintroduced every single Legendary Pokémon for a full day of Raids, and players were rewarded with three Ultra Unlock events, including the introduction of Zacian and Zamazenta as a result of Hoopa's shenanigans.
- Season of Legends: From March 1, 2021 to June 1, 2021, the second Pokémon Go Season commemorated Legendary Pokémon and included several Raids. This Season began with the trio of Forces of Nature and double trouble from Team GO Rocket. The Kalos region continues to appear in Pokémon Go, with Xerneas and Yveltal appearing in the Luminous Legends X and Luminous Legends Y events, putting the Season to a close.
- Season of Celebration: From December 1, 2020 to March 1, 2021, the first Pokémon Go Season honored each area of the Pokémon universe and introduced the Kalos region to Pokémon Go. The Go Beyond update was emphasized, as well as the Pokémon Go Battle League expansion. The Season of Celebration concluded with the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event, Kanto Celebration, and Pokémon's 25th anniversary.
