Shelgon is a quadrupedal Pokémon that looks like a pupa. Its body is covered in bone structures that create a shell with two holes and three ridges on top. One hole is in the front and reveals two yellow eyes, while the other is at the rear. This bony armor deflects hostile strikes, but it adds weight to Shelgon. Its gray legs protrude from below the shell, each with a small red stripe on the inside.
As a consequence, this Pokémon travels slowly and does not eat or drink. Shelgon, on the other hand, does not die for unexplained reasons. Its body is actively developing for its next stage within the shell. It stores the energy required for evolution, and when it does, its shell peels away. Shelgon lives in caves, where it remains motionless until it develops.
