Shelmet is a snail-like bivalve Pokémon. Its gray shell resembles a knight’s visor, and its shell has a coiling spiral farther back. The shell contains protrusions on the bottom that seem to be legs. It has a pink inner body, a large, puckered mouth, and green marks below its eyes.

It may spew a deadly sticky substance and seal the lid on its helmet-like shell as a defense mechanism. This tactic, however, does not work against its nemesis and natural predator Karrablast, who can open Shelmet’s shell. Through electrical-like energy, it may develop about the same time as its adversary. It thrives in damp environments such as bogs and marshes.
