Biology
Starly is a bird Pokémon with grayish-brown feathers. It has a white mask-like marking on its face and a white spot on its breast. On the female, the upper section of the mask marking is smaller. The remainder of its head, as well as the bottom portion of its wings, are black. Starly has a large orange beak with a black tip, as well as oval black eyes with white pupils. A little tuft of feathers coils over its back and head, and a small, pointed ruff wraps around its neck. It has two black tail feathers separated by a white feather. It has three toes in front and one in rearon its orange foot. It eats little Bug Pokémon and Cherubi. It has also been shown in the anime munching the acorn-like Berries growing on the Grotle plants.
When left alone, Starly is weak and unnoticeable despite its ability to flail its wings violently. To defend itself, it creates enormous flocks. Individuals will begin to argue if the group becomes too big. The scream of this Pokémon is rough, and its singing may be unpleasant. Starly gathers in mountains and fields to seek for insect Pokémon. Starly’s little wings are strong enough to inflict a harm on adversaries that may persist for weeks.
