A new component called “Seasons” will also be added to the game as part of the Go Beyond update.

This component will cause the game to be modified in a predetermined manner once every three months (in keeping with the changing of the seasons in the real world). On December 1 at 8:00 AM local time, the beginning of the first in-game season will take place (more about this particular Season in a bit).

At the beginning of each new Season in the game, a new set of Pokemon will become more common in the wild, in Raids, and among the Pokemon that may be hatched from Eggs. Because of this, it is possible that it will be harder to locate some Pokemon when it is “out of season” for them.

Because the Pokemon that emerge more often in each in-game Season will link to the season that is now taking place in the real world, the in-game Seasons will differ depending on which hemisphere you are playing on.

During the course of each Season, Pokémon that have some kind of connection to the Season’s overarching theme will show up more frequently. For instance, during the Summer months in the Southern hemisphere, Growlithe can be rather prevalent, but during the Winter months, it might be quite uncommon.

As an example, during the first Season, Pokemon that are “associated to winter” will show up in the wild more often in the Northern Hemisphere, while Pokemon that are “related to summer,” such as Burmy and Darumaka, would show up in the Southern Hemisphere.

The season that is now taking place in the actual world will also have an effect on the form of Deerling that may be found in the wild. (There are four different types of Deerling, and each one corresponds to one of the four seasons.)

In addition, there will be unique events that take place throughout each in-game Season that are themed after the season that is now active.

Each Season will offer “limited times when [particular Mega-Evolved Pokemon] will have increased total CP,” and different Mega-Evolved Pokemon will be featured in Raids each time. Additionally, each Season will feature a new set of Mega-Evolved Pokemon.

As soon as a new season begins, the list of Pokémon that may be hatched from eggs will be updated to include the new seasonal Pokémon. The Pokémon Eggs that are gathered in the Northern hemisphere and the Southern hemisphere are identical in every way.

During the inaugural Pokémon GO Season, also known as the Season of Celebration, the only Eggs that were impacted were the 2 km and 5 km ones.

Events that take place during the Seasons have a chance of momentarily altering the Pokémon that emerge from their Eggs. New seasonal Pokémon can only be found in Eggs that have been gathered during the current Season.

Changes in the seasons will come about in the world of Pokémon GO just as they do in the real world. You can anticipate to see a new Season in Pokémon GO around every three months. With each new Season comes significant changes, such as the following:

  • There will be an increase in the frequency with which some Pokémon may be found in the wild, hatched from eggs, and encountered in raids and Mega Raids. During some Seasons, it may be more difficult to track down certain Pokémon; thus, you should try to capture them while you still can.
  • There are many different Pokémon that emerge in the wild throughout each season, and these Pokémon might vary depending on which hemisphere you are in.
  • The current season will serve as inspiration for the aesthetic of some in-game events.
  • GO Battle League seasons will coincide with the overarching Seasons and will continue to cycle via different format variations every three months. The concept of the current Season will also be included into the design of the rewards for the GO Battle League.
