Biology
Talonflame is an avian Pokémon that looks like a falcon. Its head, wings, and most of its chest and back are covered in red-orange plumage that tapers off into a flame pattern. It has a gray underbelly and hindquarters, and black tips on its long, pointed wings. Its bottom is speckled with orange dots. The shaggy feathers on its legs are adorned with large golden talons. Talonflame has a pointed crest on top of its head and mask-like markings surrounding its eyes. It has a golden cere hooked onto its black beak. It also has long black tailfeathers with three yellow V-shapes on them. The tail is split in two and has a feather poking out of the base on either side, similar to the fletching on the end of an arrow.
Talonflame eats other bird Pokémon like Wingull and Pikipek. It hunts by diving and hitting its target with kicks before grabbing them with its talons, leaving little opportunity for them to escape. It can dive at speeds of up to 310 miles per hour (500 kilometers per hour). It rains embers from the holes in its feathers as it flies across the skies to frighten its enemies. Its wings are fireproof and have previously been used to build firefighter uniforms.
