Biology

Tapu Bulu is a Legendary Pokémon that resembles a bull. Tapu Bulu’s physique is huge and black, with large arms and no legs. It has blue eyes with an orange stripe across the center of each iris. A red line split into three segments runs under each eye, with a smaller, white line beneath that. Each eye has a tiny white line above it. It looks to have a golden nose in the centre of its face, similar to a bull’s snout. A white ring runs between the nostrils of the nose. A broad white line curls upward at the outer tip on either side of its face. It has scarlet bands around its shoulders and golden, cloven hooves on the tips of its arms. It has a golden bell with two thin black rings around the top and a wavy black line around the bottom on its tail. Inside the bell, a tuft of fur may be seen. A pair of curving, black horns protrude from the top of its skull. Each horn has a strong yellow marking at the tip and is linked to half of a wooden shell.

The shell of Tapu Bulu is predominantly red, with white and yellow patterns that are heavily surrounded by a subdued black. When open, the shell resembles a flower or plant; when closed, the horns slide to the sides, giving it the appearance of a bull. Each half’s top is slightly thicker than the bottom, giving the “bull” a slightly projecting forehead. Each side has a white rectangle with a muted black triangle at the bottom. Two triangular marks lie above the rectangles; the upper triangle barely overlaps a bigger, yellow triangle. A little white rectangle, barely touching the yellow triangle, provides the “bull’s” eyes. A single, small yellow triangle is marked on the side.

This Ula’ula Island guardian has the ability to force flora to grow and alter form at its command. Despite its terrifying strength, it is mostly passive, prompting some to label it a lazy Pokémon. It has a gentle demeanor and dislikes causing unneeded conflict, therefore it rings the bell on its tail to inform people of its presence. It is cruel to anyone who insult it, though, and it is claimed to have once repulsed burglars from its ruins by swinging branches like clubs. [1] Another manifestation of the guardian’s anger is the devastated Tapu Village.

Tapu Bulu and the other guardian deities are the only Pokémon known to be able to learn the move Nature’s Madness. They are also the only Pokémon known to use the Z-Move Guardian of Alola.
