Tornadus is a green, muscular humanoid Pokémon that resembles a genie in Incarnate Forme. There is no female equivalent to this species. It has two purple long and pointy horns on its forehead. Tornadus has white hair that is wavy and billowy, a spiky white mustache, and two pointed green ears on each side of its head. It has golden eyes with beady white irises and no discernible pupils. Tornadus’s body is covered with unevenly shaped purple dots on the front. Its wide chest is made up of two linked diamond-shaped pectorals, its shoulders and elbows are ornamented with magatama designs, and a teardrop sits on top of its navel, all in purple. It has two speckled strong arms, each with five fingers. It has a trailing cloud for a lower body and a purple long, curling tail topped with a swirl. Tornadus has many whorled structures that run the length of its tail. They are a pale khaki hue and move in the same direction as its tail tip.

Tornadus is a big, green, bipedal, long-necked, birdlike Pokémon in Therian Forme. It no longer has discernible ears, and the horns on its forehead have thinned and turned crest-like. Tornadus’ hair has become crest-like, and its hair whirl has reversed direction. Its hairstyle has also become more loose, flowing proudly down its long neck. Tornadus’ mustache now resembles a beak, bursting out on the edges like coarse feathers across its face. Its eyes are still yellow, but with enlarged irises and no apparent pupils. Its chest is now bigger but otherwise unchanged, and its navel is now adorned with a ruby stone. Tornadus’ arms have evolved into huge, feathered wings with thumbs and five massive, purple-tipped main feathers. It has two powerful legs with sharp talons and three keen purple claws and one dewclaw on each. Tornadus’ tail is mostly unaltered, however it is less curled than previously. It has a big trailing cloud-like puff on its lower back.

Tornadus has a top speed of 200 miles per hour (320 kilometers per hour). It may also cause storms and blow down homes with its tail. This has the additional effect of shifting the seasons. Tornadus is feared and reviled by people and farmers for the devastation it causes when unleashed with its terrible gales. It also has severe clashes with Thundurus when the two meet, having battled its kin since the dawn of time. It has been spotted in its Therian Form wandering over oceans. Tornadus may create mini-whirlwinds and surround himself with a cloud barrier to defend himself.

Tornadus is the only Pokémon known to be able to learn the move Bleakwind Storm.
