Ultra League & Ultra League Premier Cup Tier List

A detailed guide on the best Pokémon to employ in the Ultra League. This article covers the Ultra League’s top Pokémon tiers, with an emphasis on GO Battle League Season 6.

We make every effort to generalize these levels so that you may make choices depending on your playstyle and resources.

Please keep in mind that this guide will not cover every Pokémon available in the Ultra League. As a result, although you may still be shocked while fighting other Trainers, you will at least know how to cope with the most popular Ultra League battlers.

Furthermore, since this guide was last updated, there have been some additional combat limitations (Premier), as well as the introduction of XL Pokémon (above lvl 40).

This tutorial will also cover these new elements of fighting in the Ultra League. This guide does not include the best movesets for particular Pokémon, so please see our other guides and spotlights for them.

Important updates, modifications and changes

It should be noted that they are the Top Tier Pokémon based on PvPoke rankings as well as study and research. It is completely up to you which team you choose, and we hope that this guide will help you make the best selections for your playstyle.

Each season, a new meta (or the teams that the majority of players utilize) emerges based on the Pokémon that may be battled and any new Pokémon additions or modifications to movesets.

You may mix and match your teams anyway you like, but bringing any of these top Pokémon will significantly improve your performance!

The list progresses from the strongest Pokémon (Tier 1) to Pokémon that aren’t as powerful but have specialized applications with high DPS (Tier 4). With the advent of Premier Cup, a new meta was established by excluding legendary Pokémon, enabling more Pokémon to shine.

Also, look out for Pokémon designated with an XL, which suggest that their greatest performance is when powered up beyond level 40.

NOTE: Sometimes You Can Check This page because i would add more gadget and feel free to comment below more suggestion, hope you like my list! ^-^ and don’t forget to Visit My Youtube Channel for Daily Pokemon Go Videos!

The introduction of level 50 and generation 6 has shook up the meta, but it will likely be some time before you see XL Pokémon in the meta.

I’ve added XL in this guide so you can decide which Pokémon to train to XL in the future. You may replace lower-tier Pokémon until XL becomes more prevalent.

As a disclaimer, this tutorial is comprehensive and will include a lot of information. It will be up to you to utilize what you have to create the best squad possible for yourself.

Everyone’s Pokémon box is unique, and we made an effort to account for it. An additional disclaimer for XL Pokémon.

You may employ level 40 Pokémon if they are still near to the 2500 CP restriction, but as a general rule, knock them down a tier. Without further ado, let’s take a look at each of these Pokémon tiers and what they have to offer in this league.

Ultra League: Premier Cup.

For those who are unfamiliar with Premier Cup in Go Battle League, this puts certain limitations on the available Pokémon.

This game type removes legendary and mythological Pokémon from the metagame.

By removing legendary Pokémon, ordinary Pokémon may shine and the typing meta is altered.

The strongest legendary Pokémon in the normal Ultra League are Psychic, Ghost, Steel, and Dragon types, which determine whether non-legendary Pokémon are viable.

Premier Cup provides for a considerably more varied meta and broadens your choices, making it a favorite game type among battlers.

Most battlers would likely choose this game style over normal Ultra League in order to avoid the expense and difficulty of legendary Pokémon.

Breakdown: Tier 1

XL Pokémon dominate this tier. To be top tier, all of these Pokémon need XL and are close to the 2500 CP restriction. Premier and classic ultra league game types overlap with Galarian Stunfisk XL, Manidbuzz XL, and Shadow Abomasnow XL.

If you want to develop XL Pokémon as soon as possible, these are probably the greatest XL Pokémon to invest in early on.

Because to the lack of legendary Pokémon, Altaria XL, Skarmory XL, and Scrafty XL are exclusive to tier 1 for premier cup.

Altaria XL is theoretically viable in the normal extreme league, but it is outclassed by Giratina and Registeel. Scrafty XL and Skarmory XL are both intriguing options that offer great coverage and bulk.

The catch to this tier is that we won’t see these XL Pokémon in the meta for a long, so keep a look out for when that occurs.

Breakdown: Tier 1.5

Due to the scarcity of XL Pokémon at the time, this tier was developed as a stand-in until more XL Pokémon were available. With Steel, Dark, and Ice type Pokémon reaching the top tier list, Machamp becomes a strong option in the meta.

Electric Pokémon, like as Magnezone and Galvantula, become increasingly important when powerful Flying types and Water types get to the top of the list.

Depending on the squad you choose, Escavalier and Sirfetch’d provide varied coverage for combat types. Either of these fighters is viable, and their success will be determined by team chemistry.

Swampert is often a solid choice and will undoubtedly be a great counter to Galarian Stunfisk this season, but depending on the meta, it may fall a little short.

There are a number of powerful Flying and Grass kinds that may cause it problems. However, it is a low-cost option that is still effective.

Drifblim XL is another intriguing option that can effectively oppose Fighting types, but may be a liability in a meta with powerful Dark types.

Breakdown: Tier 2

As we go through Tier 2, we notice an increase in type variety. Given the prevalence of Dark, Fighting, and Dragon types on the top tier list, Clefable XL is a good choice.

Their or even more counter users, such as Obstagoon, Blaziken, and Toxicroak, reach this tier. At the present, the difference between Toxicroak and Toxicroak XL is not worth the expenditure.

Blaziken is an excellent choice, because to its fire typing, which is helpful against steel and insect kinds seen in later levels.

Because of their type or movesets, Snorlax, Empoleon, and Lapras provide some bulkiness and broad coverage. Gengar may be a strong counter to the presence of Fighting types, but it can still lose without shields, while Gallade provides comparable fighting coverage with the additional benefit of access to leaf blade.

Finally, there are alternatives to higher-tier Pokémon like as Electivire, Honchkrow, and Alolan Muk.

Breakdown: Tier 3

This tier has a combination of hefty damage absorbers and Pokémon with fast charging movepools. This tier includes contains Pokémon that you may have previously powered up for previous metas.

These may be utilized as cheap choices or as alternatives to new rising star Pokémon. Steelix XL and Alolan Raichu XL are two XL variants that have received a boost this season and may be extremely helpful in the proper squad.

If you don’t have the heritage moveset, Typhlosion and Charizard are excellent replacements for Blaziken, while Togekiss is a decent replacement for Clefable XL.

Kingdra is another viable option, since he has access to a massive attack debuff that may help you win battles. It will also be effective against Dragon kinds while taking neutral damage from Ice types. With powerful flyers and various bug types in the meta, Crustle is also a highly intriguing choice.

Breakdown: Tier 4

The last layer is the last but not least. There are still some intriguing selections at this tier that may work nicely with the proper squad. Historically, the Premier Cup meta has been extremely varied, with spicy selections being popular and highly appreciated.

We have a new addition in the form of Talonflame XL and Chesnaught, as well as other excellent alternatives depending on what you have in your store.

Honorable mentions are also extremely powerful spice selections that may confuse your opponent. These Pokémon’s movepools are intriguing and may be a lot of fun to play.

If you employ a rare Pokémon, it is more likely that your opponent is unfamiliar with its moveset and will not know when to protect. When playing Go Battle League, spice (or surprise) selections may be a highly helpful and enjoyable tactic.

Ultra League: All Pokémon

This is the original Ultra League game mode, where any Pokémon may be utilized in battle. In this phase, legendary Pokémon dominate the metagame.

However, with the introduction of XL Pokémon, some changes are taking place. We may expect XL Pokémon to threaten legendary dominance in this game type as they become more prevalent and popular in the meta.

It may be expensive to power up and unlock second moves on legendary Pokémon, but it is essential if you want to compete in this playing style. There are less costly options, but non-legendary Pokémon cannot compete with legendary stats.

Breakdown: Tier 1

This tier includes hefty tanks with excellent coverage and type that is tough to defeat. This tier contains four XL pokemon in addition to prior meta mainstays like Registeel, Giratina, and Cresselia.

When XL pokemon become more prevalent, Galarian Stunfisk XL will most likely be a real powerhouse. If you manage to raise one to level 50, Registeel XL will be very powerful.

To achieve level 50 while staying within the 2500 CP restriction, you’ll need to acquire a rare low attack IV Registeel. If you have a high IV Registeel powered up in past seasons, it is still useful; XL is just superior.

Mandibuzz XL and Shadow Abomasnow XL are new additions to this tier. Mandibuzz XL has a lot of bulk and a strong moveset for neutral damage while also negating other top tier options.

Abomasnow XL’s Ice typing will dispatch top-tier Dragon and Flying types, while its Grass typing will dispatch Swampert, who will almost certainly remain a prominent competitor.

Shadow or normal Abomasnow may be used, but XL is required for top tier.

Breakdown: Tier 2

With six generations of Pokemon accessible to you, you have a lot of choices. This tier has more tanky pokemon as well as extra kinds that compete with tier 1 selections.

Swampert will be a highly powerful choice due to the high prevalence of Steel type pokemon in the meta, but it comes with a dangerous 2x vulnerability to Grass.

There are a few grass Pokémon that are important at this tier, but Shiftry XL is the best. The shadow form is preferable, although the normal form is equally feasible.

This tier also has more tanky Dark and Steel type pokemon like as Skarmory XL, Umbreon XL, and Steelix XL. Drifblim XL appears as a counter to Giratina, flyers, and dragons.

Clefable XL gains power and is an effective counter against dragon and dark kinds. As XL Pokémon grow more prevalent, Clefable XL may become more popular. Lapras, along with Suicune and Articuno, remains a strong competitor. With its superior moveset and defensiveness, Lickilicky XL enters this tear, overtaking Snorlax.

Breakdown: Tier 3

This tier broadens considerably in order to add counters to counters. Each of these options has advantages and disadvantages. It’s less about tankiness and more about flexibility and coverage at this tier.

If your resources or Pokémon are limited, Pokémon in this tier may be lower tier alternatives for higher tier Pokémon. The majority of these Pokémon have powerful movesets for rapid charge techniques that can be used to knock down shields with specialized coverage.

Togekiss, the second greatest fairy type, is currently second only to Clefable XL, and is excellent for taking down dragons or chipping away health with its quick move. It should be be mentioned that Shadow Zapdos is superior than normal form.

This tier also includes several of the starting Pokémon, like as Charizard and Venusaur, who are strong competitors and very inexpensive to produce.

If you want to take the cheap way and utilize beginning Pokémon, make sure to bring at least one Pokémon with some mass from the top two tiers.

Scrafty XL will most certainly be a very powerful choice if XL Pokémon become more prevalent, so keep an eye out for it in future metagames.

Breakdown: Tier 4

Spice selections are highlighted in this tier. Spice is a surprise element that may catch your opponent off guard. Using spice may be difficult since it requires a highly synergistic team to make it work at the upper levels of Go Battle League.

However, if you are more interested in experimenting than in winning, this is the tier for you. Picks from this category are entertaining to use and can certainly liven up your life.

Gliscor and Gardevoir are most effective in shadow form. There isn’t much information about Blastoise XL, but depending on how things turn out when Ultra League fights resume, this may be a higher ranking Pokémon.

Mew is usually a spicy choice because of its very varied movepool, but there are optimum movesets, so look at them. Many of these selections become more important in the Premier Cup. Make certain that your squad is well-balanced and that your deficiencies are covered.

Honorable mentions provide other alternatives for you to consider if your available Pokémon are restricted or dust is scarce. It should be noted that Regice and Regirock are also excellent choices, but they fall short of Registeel, which is very frequent.

If your resources are limited, opt to strengthen Registeel. They are viable alternatives to the aforementioned Pokémon, with respectable stats and movepools. It is up to you to form a functional team out of the Pokémon given or any ones you consider worthy.

My Final Words

Because the Ultra League has yet to begin at the time of this release, there may be some new insights with generation 6 and XL Pokémon.

Take information regarding XL Pokémon with a grain of salt until we see them in action, but based on simulations and numbers, they seem to be extremely promising in the meta.

This update was a massive makeover due to the many additions to Ultra League PvP. Keep an eye out for future spotlights on particular Ultra League Pokémon, and don’t be scared to try new things.

It is up to you to form teams and select whatever teams you want, but I hope this guide helps you make some choices. Because this advice is not comprehensive and somewhat subjective, try your best to form a fun and deserving squad.
