Voltorb #100

Voltorb is a spherical Pokémon that looks like a Poké Ball but lacks the button. The upper part is red, while the lower half is white. It is speculated that it was generated when one was subjected to an energy pulse, because to its likeness to Poké Balls.

This is reinforced by the fact that its constituents are not found in nature. Voltorb is often observed in power plants and other regions where electric fields are present. It was found in the same plant that created current Poké Balls. It has a violent disposition and will erupt if irritated or nudged even slightly.

Hisuian Voltorbs, like their modern counterparts, have the same wood grain pattern as Poké Balls of the historical period (made from Apricorns) and a hole on top through which it releases all of its stored power but missing the clasp. They contain several seeds on the inside, but owing to the darkness, it has been unable to study them. The red wooden unibrow of Hisuian Voltorb is remarkable.

They have pleasant and energetic temperaments, unlike Kantonian Voltorb, which causes them to crowd around humans and be a nuisance when they discharge. When it releases, it is said to give forth a loud, boisterous chuckle. Hisuian Voltorb has the ability to store electric currents in its belly. People have been reported temporarily blocking Hisuian Voltorb holes to prevent them from discharging before removing them from their villages.
