Xerneas #716
Xerneas is a quadrupedal Pokémon that looks like a deer and has four pairs of antlers. Its color changes somewhat depending on whether it is in Active or Neutral mode. Its primary body is always black, with a blue stripe down its back and a short, bushy tail, regardless of mode. Starting at the knees, each leg has a blade-like trim that produces a point beneath each hoof. It has an upside-down, V-shaped insignia on its chest that matches the trim on its legs. It has a blue head and neck, as well as two enormous tufts that extend across its chest and curl upward. Its initial set of antlers wrap around the bottom of its eyes and extend onto its head. The pupils are X-shaped and the eyes are black. In lieu of ears, it has a small marking on the tip of its nose and an upward curving horn on either side of its skull.
In Active Mode, its patterns, antlers, and leg trim are light gold. It has rainbow branches and bumps on its antlers, as well as multicolored dots on its back. In Neutral Mode, its markings and antlers are light blue, with deeper blue decorations on its antlers and patches on its back.
Xerneas has the ability to share endless life. This happens when the horns on its head glow in seven different hues. If it expends too much life energy, it changes into a tree and sleeps for 1,000 years, as shown in Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. Xerneas has the ability to resurrect people who have been petrified by Yveltal. However, as revealed in The Legend of X, Y, and Z!, Xerneas is not always able to reverse his actions.
In Lental, an unique Xerneas is adored for being one of the seven guardian Illumina Pokémon, specifically for protecting the area from a meteorite. It may be found in the Aurus Island Illumina Spot.
Xerneas is the only Pokémon known to be capable of learning the move Geomancy.
