Zekrom is a black, bipedal Pokémon with dark spots on different parts of its body that resembles a dragon or dinosaur. It features red sclerae, white irises, and black pupils, as well as a tiny horn-like protrusion on its snout tip. It has a thundercloud-like crest on its head that is capped with pale blue colouring. When its mouth is open, there are six pairs of sharp teeth visible, two in the upper jaw and four in the lower. A black, stud-like structure at the base of its neck, and similar, bigger characteristics resembling armor padding above its shoulders. Its wings’ bottoms are likewise padded, and they have a fanned, spread, presumably webbed form with a little “wing-spike” on one edge. Zekrom’s arms’ bottom lengths exaggerate into spread, presumably webbed, baseball-mitt-like structures, with three-clawed, dark-colored palms on the undersides. Zekrom’s waist is black in the front, with faint striations along the length of its belly and thighs. It has black knees, as well as the tops of its three-clawed feet and spiky heels. When its emotions spike, it enters Overdrive mode and its tail glows blue.
Zekrom’s tail is a big, spherical, conical, and spiky creation that resembles an electrical generator, with a dark interior half and bands on the outer tip. This tail generates energy for attacks and creates an anti-gravity field, letting Zekrom to soar through the air with little resistance from aerodynamics and gravity. This tail generator is also triggered when affected by Fusion Flare or Blue Flare, which in turn powers up Zekrom’s hallmark techniques, Fusion Bolt or Bolt Strike. It may create many thunderstorms in a single region and usually hides in thunderclouds. Zekrom allied with the younger brother who pursued principles in an Unovan fable about twin heroes. According to one legend, Zekrom utilizes its lightning to destroy kingdoms of people who have lost their sense of justice. It is a species with no gender.
By leveling up, Zekrom is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Bolt Strike.
By leveling up, only Zekrom and Black Kyurem are known to be able to learn the move Fusion Bolt.
